Songwriting Study
If you are planning on taking part in the study for New Songwriters (or even if you're already quite experienced at songwriting) you may want to check out some of these books to help you.
 
Actually the best place to start is to listen very closely to the songs that you like, thinking about the structure, the lyrics, the sound of the words, the melody, the rhythm ... and how these all fit together. But you may still want to check out some of these books to give you tips and insights that it might otherwise take a while to discover for yourself.
